Broadcast Video Engineer

Role Profile

The video engineer will be responsible for the design of audiovisual digitization facilities and technical architectures (design). He will work in “projects” mode in close collaboration with the “project managers”, the “IT team” and the “CTO”. He will document both technical and financial aspects of audiovisual installations. He will lead teams (and/or participate in) in charge of audiovisual installations.

Memnon develops its own solutions for digitization, ingesting, transcoding, and workflow management. In the production, we use in-house developed solutions combined with integrations of 3rd party software products and interfacing to many hardware equipment. Our solutions are deployed in both Memnon Digitization facilities in  Europe, US, and Dubai, and externally at many clients’ premises all over the world.

Tasks and responsibilities

As a technical designer

  • Analysing technical needs to start or adapt a production chain
  • Advising sales team in pre-sales phases about technical solutions, potentialities and capabilities, and related costs
  • Imagining and documenting production methods and technical installations; establishing solution architectures
  • Recommending, listing, estimating, testing and purchasing the main audiovisual technical equipment

As a setup manager

  • Finalizing diagrams and documenting the setup specifications as defined in the solution architectures
  • Sending purchase orders, tracking and checking receives, testing equipment
  • Organizing technical setups in “Factory Acceptance Test” phase and on site; constituting and leading qualified setups teams; participating himself in the installations
  • Testing and validating technical setups put in place for acceptance (FAT and SAT)
  • Participating in elaborating and teaching training programs for operational managers
  • Accompanying the start of production on the technical setups installed (start-up phase); ensuring the first improvements and fine tunings

As a video expert manager

  • Ensuring a technological watch
  • Participating in thinking on innovations and new ways of working
  • Collaborating on continuous improvement processes


Reporting line

  • You will work closely with the CTO and the project leaders.
  • You will collaborate with IT, facilities and operational teams.
  • You will assist the sales team for the technical aspects.
  • You will report to the CTO.



  • location independent
  • required to come frequently to the base in Brussels (headquarter)
  • required to come to Bloomington
  • required to provide some short missions (ca. 1-3 weeks) abroad for on-site support or system setup/upgrades


Profile required

Education and Experience

  • civil or industrial engineer, electronics engineer
  • at least 5 years experienced in broadcast video (operating techniques)
  • good knowledge of both analogue and digital video formats
  • good knowledge of computer and IT related to video and workflow management


  • analysis and design capabilities
  • very good technical level
  • able to use design software (Visio, Autocad)
  • preferred: knowledge of U-Matic, Betacam, 1 ” formats
